BE BLESSED AS YOU SHARE IN GOD’S CREATION WITH US
Tulip time
A lonely and solitary nymph she stands
Each one unique with all her peculiarities
Of the original intact and, in fact,
varying only with the soil and season.
The green bud touched with colour emerging
and climbing on its pedicel lingers slightly
in anticipation of the Spring
Then a single shimmering flower awakes and breaks,
clad in her satin coat, protected
by her moat of green courtiers from the winter chill.

The majestic Calla Lily P.J. Berkman – growing beautifully in our front garden
Upon a bed of meadow grass I sit in contemplation
Of how in perfect knowledge you created my salvation
You understand my every thought, each little word and deed,
You care for me, your share with me, supply my every need.
Your Holy Spirit nurtures me and leads me through the day;
Your grace restrains my feet from every evil way.
My heritage your very Word forever to the end.
From your eternal faithfulness my Counsellor and Friend.
1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height for I have rejected him.The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Saul was rebellious and arrogant and Scripture views both sins as being equal to witchcraft and idolatry, worthy only of death. (Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 20:6 and Micah 5:10-14). So is it little wonder God rejected him for his rebellion against God. Rebellion is perhaps the most serious of all sins for it closes the door to relationship with the Lord. For the unsaved, persistent rebellion can lead only to eternal death.
Saul was handsome and a most impressive man: But God warned Samuel against judging by appearances. When people make assessments of others based only on their rank, degrees, or appearance they may be overlooking quality and reliability to be found in others. God sees us on the inside. He knows our inner character and the attitude of our heart and whatever we may be Our Potter will shape us nearer to His heart’s desire.
Deep in the fathomless ocean
God’s flowers bloom.
Pristine perfections of creation
Hidden from the eye, and yet
He tenderly touches them with His love.
Softly, silently, moving in rhythm to the ocean’s swell.
Poinsettias, pushing their crimson
Clusters to His heavenly touch.
Sensational events of public character, and
Yet, He loves them just as much as those
Who bloom in the earth’s quiet shade.
Sing a song of praises the world is fresh and new,
Flowers lift their sleepy heads to drink the morning dew.
Sing a song of praises for every tiny thing,
The little bud that opens, the miracle of Spring,
The little lambs that romp and play,
The birdsong in the shade of day,
The glories of the sunset hour,
The crickets singing in the bower.
Each wonder God just made for me but in His creativity
He sent His Son who died for me upon the cross of Calvary.
I became the lamb that strayed along a pathway drought and frayed with fears and woes,
Yet, in His love He gently led me, cared for me and softly fed me with His precious Word.
He will keep me, He will lead me, always in His wondrous grace,
Until I see the crystal river and one day meet Him face to face.

There can be no secret closet in our lives that catches sin
If each room is filled with His presence
Just open up your hearts and let His love come in
Receive Christ as Saviour, lose the penalty of sin
Be filled with His knowledge and surrender all to Him
Jesus Christ our Saviour and our King.
Grevillea macleayana
found growing naturally on the Headland at Ulladulla
I’ve received Him in my heart and I’m set apart for God
I’m transformed and transfigured by His grace
We are washed, we are sanctified by the Spirit of our God
And look towards His dear and precious face.
